The Registered Nurse - Telemetry provides specialized care to patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring.
This role involves assessing, planning, and delivering high-quality patient care while monitoring cardiac rhythms and ensuring adherence to safety and healthcare standards.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and assess patients requiring telemetry, including cardiac rhythm analysis.
Administer medications, IVs, and treatments as prescribed.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized patient care plans.
Perform frequent assessments to detect changes in patient condition and take immediate action when necessary.
Provide education to patients and their families about conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
Document patient care accurately and timely in accordance with healthcare regulations.
Ensure compliance with infection control, patient safety, and quality care standards.
Respond to emergencies, including arrhythmias and other life-threatening situations.
Maintain proficiency with telemetry equipment and related technology.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Current and unencumbered RN license in the state of employment or compact state.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a telemetry or critical care unit.
BLS and ACLS certifications (current and valid).
Proficiency in telemetry equipment operation and cardiac rhythm interpretation.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Certification in progressive care nursing (PCCN) or related specialty.
Experience working in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Certifications
BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support.
