Job Summary:
The Vice President of Quality, Patient Safety is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive quality and patient safety program that aligns with the organization’s strategic goals. This leadership role directs the implementation of evidence-based infection prevention practices, ensures regulatory compliance with applicable laws, and fosters continuous improvement in quality, safety, and patient outcomes. The VP collaborates with executive leadership to align quality and safety initiatives with overall organizational objectives and uses data analytics to drive performance improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy: Provide visionary leadership in the development and execution of strategies that improve quality, safety, and patient outcomes across the organization.
Program Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive quality and patient safety program, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
Infection Prevention: Direct the development and implementation of evidence-based infection prevention practices throughout the system.
Regulatory Compliance: Oversee compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards, including CMS, Joint Commission, and NCQA.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Lead the collection, analysis, and reporting of quality and safety data to identify areas for improvement and measure the effectiveness of interventions.
Continuous Improvement: Utilize data analytics to assess performance and guide continuous improvement efforts.
Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with executive leadership and other departments to ensure quality and safety initiatives are integrated into the organization’s strategic objectives.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and influence multidisciplinary teams in a complex healthcare environment to drive quality and safety improvements.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
RN, MSN, PharmD, or PhD in a healthcare-related field required.
Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance within a large healthcare system.
Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in quality improvement methodologies, patient safety principles, and regulatory requirements.
Skills: Strong understanding of healthcare operations, clinical processes, and evidence-based practices.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Proven ability to lead and influence multidisciplinary teams.
Strategic thinking with a data-driven decision-making approach.
Preferred Qualifications:
Leadership: Proven ability to drive organizational change and lead cross-functional teams toward achieving strategic goals.
