The Registered Nurse - Surgery is responsible for delivering perioperative care to surgical patients in operating, procedure, and recovery rooms.
This role includes preparing the operating room with necessary sterile supplies and equipment, assisting surgeons during procedures, and applying sterile techniques throughout the surgical process.
Additionally, the Registered Nurse collaborates with the surgical team to ensure effective patient care and recovery post-surgery.
Key Responsibilities
Provide perioperative care to surgical patients, including pre- and post-surgery support.
Stock operating rooms with sterile surgical equipment, linens, and supplies.
Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans for surgical patients.
Prepare patients for surgery, including site cleaning and disinfection.
Assist surgeons during surgical procedures with sterile techniques.
Collaborate with surgical teams on patient medication and post-surgery care.
Update patient files and medical records accurately.
Manage surgical equipment and supplies, ensuring proper ordering, maintenance, and storage.
Provide post-surgery care instructions to patients and answer questions.
Required Qualifications
2+ years of experience in Cardiac Surgery.
Experience in circulating and/or scrubbing roles.
BLS and RN TX License.
Preferred Qualifications
Level 1 trauma experience.
Certifications
BLS, ACLS.
