The Registered Nurse - Emergency Room is responsible for delivering patient care primarily to a geriatric population through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role also involves directing and guiding patient education and the activities of ancillary personnel while upholding professional nursing standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the emergency room.
Conduct thorough assessments of patients' conditions and develop individualized care plans.
Implement nursing interventions and evaluate patient outcomes.
Direct and guide patient teaching and the activities of ancillary staff.
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient care and safety.
Maintain a safe and sterile environment in the emergency room.
Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
Required Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
Experience in the Emergency Department is preferred; a critical care background is also desirable.
Education:
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
License/Certification:
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications are required.
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification is preferred.
