Job Summary:
Stepdown Registered Nurses (RNs) provide specialized care for patients transitioning from intensive care to general medical-surgical units. They monitor patients' conditions, administer medications, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
• Patient Monitoring:
Monitor patients' vital signs, assess their conditions, and track their progress.
Recognize any changes in a patient's status and respond promptly.
• Medication Administration:
Administer medications as prescribed, including IV medications and other treatments.
Ensure proper dosage and monitor patients for any adverse reactions.
• Wound Care:
Provide wound care for patients who require dressing changes or wound assessments.
• Collaboration:
Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust patient care plans.
Ensure effective communication to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Patient Education:
Educate patients and their families about the patient's condition, treatment plan, and necessary self-care measures after discharge.
• Technical Skills:
Operate and monitor medical equipment, such as cardiac monitors, ventilators, and infusion pumps.
• Critical Thinking:
Possess strong critical thinking skills to assess patients' conditions, anticipate potential complications, and make quick decisions in emergency situations.
• Documentation:
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.

Required Qualifications:
• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Experience in a stepdown or similar unit.
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN).
• Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Certifications:
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred).
