The Registered Nurse - PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) provides specialized care to critically ill pediatric patients.
This role involves planning and managing patient care, guiding and supporting the PICU nursing staff, and ensuring high standards of patient safety and compassionate care.
The RN works collaboratively with doctors, staff, and families to provide optimal care for each patient.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess, plan, and manage patient care based on individual needs, overseeing admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Recommend and connect patients and families with appropriate programs and services.
Mentor and train new staff, offering ongoing support and guidance to team members.
Monitor and update medical charts, providing compassionate assistance to patients and their families.
Communicate protocol updates and liaise with doctors and administrators to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of a state-approved nursing program (diploma, certificate, or associate degree).
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
1-2 years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a pediatric or intensive care unit setting.
Strong interpersonal skills to support teamwork and communication within a high-stress environment.
