The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is responsible for preparing patients for examinations and treatments, ensuring accurate documentation in medical records, and maintaining effective communication with patients, colleagues, and visitors. The CMA plays a key role in upholding professionalism and contributing to continuous quality improvement within the clinic. The position involves active participation in staff meetings, education programs, and quality enhancement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for examinations and medical treatments.
Accurately document patient information in accordance with the clinic's charting policies.
Maintain effective communication with patients, staff, and visitors.

Actively participate in continuous quality improvement efforts, staff meetings, and education programs.
Place orders under the supervision of a healthcare provider.
Perform and assist with patient care tasks, including administering medications (under supervision), providing instructions, conducting basic lab procedures, and assisting with medical procedures as directed.
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Clean, sterilize, and store medical instruments following clinic protocols.
Prepare and restock medical suites for patient examinations.
Monitor and reorder medical supplies as needed.
Respond promptly to patient and family needs.
Safeguard patient confidentiality in accordance with privacy regulations.
Complete all required continuous education and training.
Adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
Follow bloodborne pathogens safety procedures.
Screen and respond to incoming phone calls and messages.
Take appropriate action in response to problems or inquiries.
Provide information about clinic services to patients and visitors.
Schedule patient appointments and confirm or reschedule as necessary.
Organize office and laboratory areas efficiently.
Promote and embody the clinic’s values and mission.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Required Qualifications:
Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) from an accredited institution.
Proven experience in a medical office setting.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Basic knowledge of medical procedures and terminology.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
