MRI Technologist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated MRI Technologist to join our radiology team. This role is crucial in delivering high-quality MRI services while prioritizing patient safety and comfort. The MRI Technologist will be responsible for performing MRI scans, ensuring proper equipment operation, and supporting patients throughout the imaging process.

Key Responsibilities:
Patient Screening & Preparation:
  • Analyze patient histories and complete screenings for contraindications, including pacemakers and injuries involving metal objects.
  • Prepare and administer contrast dyes as needed to enhance image quality.

Patient Care & Comfort:
  • Address patients' concerns and ensure they are comfortable and at ease during MRI scans.
  • Position patients correctly and perform MRI scans in line with physician specifications to achieve accurate diagnostic results.

Equipment Maintenance:
  1. Conduct regular inspections of MRI equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  2. Schedule and coordinate maintenance and repairs as required, ensuring minimal downtime.

Facility Safety & Cleanliness:
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe MRI rooms and imaging equipment.

Training & Support:
  • Provide training and guidance to junior MRI Technologists and support the onboarding of new staff members.

Reporting & Quality Assurance:
  • Write detailed reports of MRI findings and escalate any issues to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Carry out quality assurance procedures and actively contribute to implementing improvements in scanning techniques and patient care protocols.

Qualifications:
Required Education & Experience:
  • Completion of an accredited MRI Technologist program.
  • Certification as an MRI Technologist (e.g., ARRT or equivalent).
  • 2+ years of experience as an MRI Technologist preferred.

Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of MRI equipment, safety protocols, and patient care techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain procedures clearly and effectively to patients.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-tech environment while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Licensure & Certification:
  • ARRT (MRI) or equivalent certification.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred.
