The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) works under the supervision of licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality patient care and support in the rehabilitation process. The PTA plays a vital role in implementing treatment plans and assisting patients in achieving their physical therapy goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist licensed physical therapists in evaluating patient conditions, developing treatment plans, and tracking progress.
Support the implementation of therapeutic exercises, activities, and modalities according to established treatment plans.
Observe and document patients' responses to treatments, noting progress and making necessary adjustments under the guidance of the supervising physical therapist.
Assist patients with mobility exercises, transfers, and gait training to improve motor function and enhance overall physical well-being.
Educate patients and their families on proper techniques for exercises and activities to be performed both in the clinic and at home.
Administer modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation as directed by the physical therapist.
Maintain a clean and organized treatment environment, ensuring all equipment is in proper working condition.
Keep accurate and up-to-date patient records, treatment plans, and progress reports in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Collaborate with the physical therapy team to discuss patient progress, treatment adjustments, and any potential challenges.

Required Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy Assisting or a related field from an accredited program.
Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
