Registered Nurse - ICU Cardiovascular

Job Summary: 
Under general supervision, the Surgical ICU Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients with complex health issues in a hospital setting. 
This role requires managing patient care plans, documenting responses, administering treatments, and supporting patients and families through the care process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee an assigned group of patients, ensuring thorough documentation of responses to treatments and interventions.
  • Assist physicians in patient examinations and minor procedures, providing accurate data and patient information.
  • Monitor and obtain physiological data, observing patients' conditions and intervening as needed.
  • Administer prescribed medications, initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products.
  • Communicate care plans with patients and families, ensuring understanding of hospital procedures.
  • Provide discharge planning and education to patients and families.
  • Refer patient care needs to the appropriate personnel and delegate tasks to support staff as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support patient care and unit needs.

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Current RN License from the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively support patients and collaborate with the healthcare team.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a Board-approved program.

Education: Bachelors Degree

Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) , Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
