The Medical Technologist will perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment. This role requires adherence to established protocols and collaboration with clinical staff to ensure high-quality laboratory services. Please note that all new hires must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and will undergo a drug screen, including nicotine, as Kettering Health is a nicotine-free organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform tests as ordered in assigned laboratory sections, which may include:
Chemistry
Hematology
Transfusion Service
Microbiology
Work under general supervision while adhering to established protocols.
Seek guidance from coordinators or professional personnel as needed.
Assist Clinical Laboratory Assistants (CLAs) and other technical team members.
Complete other duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
Required Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Laboratory Science is required.
Current Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification (ASCP) is required.
Credentialing through the Proficiency Examination administered under the auspices of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (formerly Health, Education, and Welfare).
