We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Level 2B Special Care Nursery team. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to newborns and mothers in a fast-paced, specialized environment. This role involves delivering high-quality care in alignment with evidence-based practices, ensuring the safety and well-being of both mothers and infants.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care to newborns in the Level 2B Special Care Nursery, including those requiring specialized interventions.
Monitor and assess the health status of neonates and postpartum mothers, implementing care plans accordingly.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes.
Administer medications, manage IVs, and monitor vital signs in accordance with clinical protocols.
Educate parents and families about newborn care, discharge planning, and postnatal support.
Participate in unit rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing education.
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation using the EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Required Qualifications:
Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
2+ years of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience required.
Strong clinical skills in special care nursery and newborn care.
Ability to work rotating shifts (days, evenings, and nights) and every other weekend (EOW).
BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Level 2B Special Care Nursery or similar settings.
Proficiency in managing high-risk neonates and postpartum care.
