The Electrophysiology Tech supports diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to cardiac rhythm disorders. Working closely with cardiologists and electrophysiologists, the technician operates specialized equipment, monitors patient vitals, and ensures safety and accuracy during procedures in radiology and cardiology settings.
Key Responsibilities
Assist physicians during electrophysiology studies and cardiac procedures
Prepare, calibrate, and operate electrophysiology and radiologic equipment
Monitor and interpret patient heart rhythms and vital signs during procedures
Maintain sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols
Document patient data and procedural details accurately
Provide preand post-procedure care and education to patients and families
Troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure readiness for procedures
Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
Participate in ongoing training and quality improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
Associate degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, or related field
0–2 years of experience in an electrophysiology or cardiac catheterization lab
Proficiency in electrophysiology procedures and hemodynamic monitoring
Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and radiation safety
Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications
Certification as a Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) or Registered Cardiovascular Technologist (RCVT)
Experience in both radiology and cardiology environments
