The Medical Assistant works under the supervision of licensed medical professionals to perform both clerical and patient care duties. This role supports practitioners and the healthcare team by delivering compassionate, professional care within the Medical Assistant scope of practice. The Medical Assistant contributes to implementing medical plans of care and ensuring smooth clinical operations.
Key Responsibilities
Take and document vital signs; prepare patients for examinations
Assist healthcare providers with procedures and treatments as needed
Administer medications and injections under provider supervision, monitoring patient responses
Maintain accurate patient medical records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, preferably Epic
Use medical terminology effectively to communicate with healthcare team members
Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient care and positive patient experiences
Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced ambulatory care environment while maintaining professionalism and patient confidentiality
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED certificate
Current CPR certification
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting
Proficiency in EMR systems, preferably Epic
Demonstrated skills in patient rooming, vital signs measurement, injection administration, and medical record maintenance
Strong teamwork, multitasking, and customer service skills

Prior experience in a high-volume ambulatory or specialty care clinic
Additional certifications relevant to patient care or clinical assistance
