The Dialysis Technician assists in providing hemodialysis treatments by preparing dialysis machines, cannulating patient access, and initiating/discontinuing treatments. This role ensures patient safety, accurate documentation, and effective communication with healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate patient access before cannulation for each treatment.
Set up and tear down dialysis machines in a safe and timely manner.
Accurately document necessary data for each patient during treatment.
Monitor patients closely for adverse reactions and report findings to the nurse.
Obtain lab specimens as ordered.
Attend daily huddles and monthly meetings as scheduled.
Perform additional nursing duties as requested.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Current Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) certification required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
6 months of related work experience preferred.
Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
