The Occupational Registered Nurse provides medical care, assessments, and treatment for employees in a workplace setting. This role focuses on occupational health, injury management, compliance with health regulations, and promoting employee well-being. The nurse works closely with internal teams and external providers to ensure effective case management, safety compliance, and timely return-to-work processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct nursing assessments including vital signs, injury/illness evaluation, and treatment planning
Provide medical interventions within RN scope of practice
Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with regulatory standards
Support emergency response programs and workplace health initiatives
Manage disability cases and coordinate with insurance carriers, workers’ compensation, and medical providers
Facilitate return-to-work programs through injury and illness management (PIIM)
Track and manage FMLA requests in line with legal and company policies
Perform occupational health surveillance exams as required
Participate in workplace health programs (fitness, flu shots, wellness initiatives, etc.)
Assist in pandemic preparedness planning
Coordinate with external occupational health providers when required
Manage medical inventory and supplies
Required Skills:
Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations
