The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient patient care delivery. This role involves assisting with patient rooming, discharges, point-of-care testing (POCT), and supporting neurosurgery department operations. Compassion, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Room patients and prepare them for clinical evaluation
Discharge patients following provider instructions
Perform point-of-care testing (POCT) accurately and efficiently
Support neurosurgery department workflows and patient care needs
Maintain compliance with orientation, training, and annual competency requirements
Required Qualifications
Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA)
High school diploma or GED
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program
Minimum of 2 year of experience in a clinical setting
Basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
Certifications (if any)
