Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit

Job Summary  
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse provides specialized care for patients with life-threatening conditions or complex comorbidities requiring advanced organ support and invasive monitoring. This role demands critical thinking, strong clinical knowledge, and the ability to respond quickly in a high-acuity environment. The ICU RN cares for patients with diverse conditions, including overdose, trauma, post-surgical recovery, and chronic illness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients
  • Monitor and interpret vital signs, invasive lines, and organ support systems
  • Administer medications and therapies, including advanced interventions
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately
  • Respond rapidly to emergencies and provide life-saving interventions
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery processes
  • Utilize electronic charting systems (EPIC) for documentation and communication

Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
  • Current RN License (state-specific or compact license)
  • Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Prior experience in trauma or surgical ICU settings

Certifications
  • BLS (Basic Life Support, American Heart Association)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Education: Associate's Degree
