JOB SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical Telemetry provides comprehensive patient care in a hospital setting, specializing in medical-surgical protocols and continuous cardiac monitoring. This role requires proficiency in telemetry/EKG interpretation, medication administration, wound care, and collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Monitor and interpret telemetry and EKG rhythms with accuracy
Apply medical-surgical protocols in patient care delivery
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
Administer medications and treatments safely and effectively
Manage patients with acute and chronic conditions
Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams
Perform IV insertion, wound care, and catheter care
Document patient information in EMR systems (Epic, Cerner)

Required Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical-surgical or telemetry nursing
Strong knowledge of nursing protocols and procedures
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in cardiac telemetry units
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner

Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
