JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an Inpatient Pharmacist to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care within a hospital setting. This role is responsible for preparing, dispensing, and monitoring medications for inpatients, ensuring safe and effective drug therapy, and collaborating with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Review and interpret physician orders to ensure appropriate medication therapy.
• Prepare, compound, and dispense medications accurately.
• Monitor patient medication regimens for efficacy, safety, and potential drug interactions.
• Provide clinical consultation to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families on medication use, side effects, and adherence.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to patient care planning.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements.
• Support inventory management and ensure availability of essential medications.
• Document interventions, adverse drug reactions, and clinical recommendations.
Required Qualifications
• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree or equivalent.
• Active pharmacist license in the state of practice.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and hospital pharmacy operations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced inpatient environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience as an inpatient or clinical pharmacist.
• Residency training in hospital or clinical pharmacy practice.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Certifications
• Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) or other specialty certification preferred but not required.
Education: Doctoral Degree
