JOB SUMMARY
Seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) with a specialization in pediatrics for an outpatient setting. The role involves providing therapeutic services to pediatric patients to improve their functional abilities and promote development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate pediatric patients' developmental, functional, and physical needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and patient goals.
- Provide occupational therapy interventions utilizing evidence-based practices.
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, adaptive strategies, and home programs.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with facility policies and professional standards.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
Schedule / Shift
Flexible scheduling options may be available, with standard business hours typical for outpatient pediatric clinics.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in pediatric occupational therapy is required.
Skills
- Proficiency in pediatric assessment tools and techniques.
- Skill in developing and implementing therapeutic interventions for a variety of pediatric conditions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with pediatric patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to adapt treatment strategies to meet the unique needs of each child.
EMR / Systems
- Experience with EPIC charting system is required.
Patient Population
- Pediatric patients with a range of developmental, neurological, orthopedic, and other conditions requiring occupational therapy intervention.
Unit / Specialty
- Outpatient Pediatrics. This role will be located at the Pacific Campus, which is part of a facility that includes comprehensive maternity services and a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Floating / On-Call
- No floating required.
- No on-call responsibilities.
Education: Masters Degree
