Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit

Job Summary
The ICU Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to critically ill individuals in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. This role involves monitoring patients, administering treatments, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring adherence to hospital policies and evidence-based practices. The nurse plays a vital role in stabilizing patients, supporting families, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver critical care to ICU patients, including continuous monitoring and intervention
  2. Administer medications and therapies such as IV drips, ventilator support, and emergency interventions
  3. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
  4. Perform assessments of patient conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatment
  5. Document patient care accurately in medical records to ensure compliance and continuity of care
  6. Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and recovery processes
  7. Respond to emergencies including Code Blue situations, resuscitation, and other critical events
  8. Support infection control and maintain a safe, sterile environment

Required Qualifications
  1. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable state
  2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted
  3. Minimum of 1–2 years ICU or critical care experience
  4. Proficiency in ventilator management, IV therapy, and critical monitoring
  5. Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN)
  2. Experience with electronic medical records systems (Epic, Cerner, etc.)
  3. Prior exposure to specialized ICU units (Cardiac, Neuro, Trauma)
  4. Certifications (if applicable)
  5. Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
  6. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Required
  7. CCRN – Preferred
