JOB SUMMARY
Radiology Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography (CT) is responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures to assess patients for medical conditions, as well as participating in the daily operations of the CT department.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform CT scans for diagnostic purposes, following established protocols and physician's orders.
- Position patients correctly to obtain optimal image quality.
- Administer contrast media as required, following established protocols.
- Ensure proper operation of CT scanning equipment and troubleshoot minor issues.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort during procedures, including radiation protection measures.
- Document patient information, procedure details, and equipment used in the patient's medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and departmental meetings.

- 10:30 AM - 8:00 PM

Unit Information
- Typical staffing is 4 techs + supervisor daily.
- Weekend staffing is 3 day staff, 1 night staff.
- Day Shift includes 2 techs: one from 7 AM - 5 PM, and one from 9 AM - 9 PM.
- Afternoon tech M-F from 2:30 PM - 10:30 PM.
- Night Shift: 1 tech from 7 PM - 7 AM (cross-trained tech located in X-ray who moves between X-ray and CT).
- Equipment includes 2 in-house scanners (128 and 16 slice) and 1 mobile unit (64 slice).
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months of current CT Tech experience.
- ARRT certification in Radiography (R) and Computed Tomography (CT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Night shift experience.
- Trauma I or Trauma II level experience.
- Experience with GE equipment.
- Experience with Meditech and Centricity PACS.

- Proficiency in performing CT scans.
- Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology.
- Ability to operate and maintain CT equipment.
- Excellent patient care and communication skills.
