Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

JOB SUMMARY
Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures as requested by a qualified physician, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient care.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate ultrasound equipment to capture diagnostic images of various body parts.
- Perform a range of ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, pelvic, vascular, and echocardiography, as per protocol.
- Position patients appropriately for examinations to facilitate optimal image acquisition.
- Evaluate sonograms for technical quality and ensure all relevant anatomy and pathology are visualized.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient management.
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including procedure reports and image archival.
- Adhere to all safety, infection control, and departmental policies and procedures.
- Provide patient education regarding the procedure and answer any questions.

Schedule / Shift
- To be determined based on facility needs.

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Successful completion of an accredited Ultrasound Technician program.
- Current professional certification in Ultrasound (e.g., RDMS, ARRT (S)).

Experience
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technician.

Certifications
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Skills
- Proficiency in operating various ultrasound machines and transducers.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
- Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

EMR / Systems
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred.

- Adults.
