JOB SUMMARY
Occupational Therapists are responsible for evaluating patients, developing and implementing treatment plans, and providing therapeutic interventions to improve patients' functional abilities and independence in daily living activities. This position serves both inpatient and outpatient populations within a Critical Access Hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients to assess physical, cognitive, and psychosocial impairments.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
- Provide therapeutic interventions, including exercises, adaptive equipment training, and activity modifications.
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and self-management strategies.
- Fabricate post-operative splints.
- Document patient progress and outcomes in accordance with facility policies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members.
Schedule / Shift
- Dayshift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Monday - Friday
- No weekends or holidays
Unit / Specialty
- Inpatient (60%)
- Outpatient (40%)
Patient Population
- General adult and geriatric populations
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Experience
- Experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings preferred.
- Experience with post-operative splint fabrication.
Skills
- Proficiency in evaluating and treating a wide range of orthopedic and neurological conditions.
- Knowledge of adaptive equipment and assistive devices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong documentation and organizational abilities.
Education: Masters Degree
