JOB SUMMARY
Staff Physical Therapists are responsible for direct patient care, evaluating and treating a variety of individuals based upon setting. The successful candidate will exhibit strong customer service skills, clinical skills, documentation, and patient outcomes. They must practice with high moral and professional standards and be driven toward continuous professional development. Effective time management and teamwork skills are an essential quality that will allow success in contributing to the operation of the Health System. Responsibilities include supervision and development of assistants involved in the care of their patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including evaluation and treatment.
- Supervise and develop Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and other support staff involved in patient care.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including co-treatment as indicated.
- Maintain high moral and professional standards in practice.
- Pursue continuous professional development.
- Exhibit strong customer service and clinical skills.
- Ensure thorough and accurate documentation.
- Focus on achieving positive patient outcomes.
- Demonstrate effective time management and teamwork.
Schedule / Shift
- Typically 4 x 10-hour shifts or 5 x 8-hour shifts.
- Shift times often between 7:00 AM and 5:30 PM for 10-hour days, or 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM for 8-hour days.
- Flexible scheduling arrangements may be considered.
Required Qualifications
- Pediatric experience required.
Experience
- Experience in outpatient physical therapy.
- Experience with pediatric and neuro populations.
- Experience supervising PTAs and support staff.
