Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Interventional Radiology Technologist to assist in diagnostic imaging and interventional procedures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for patient preparation, equipment setup, anesthesia support, and assisting physicians during procedures to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Administer anesthesia to patients before or during procedures
Monitor patients’ vital signs during procedures and report any changes to the physician or medical team
Prepare patients by explaining procedures, administering sedatives, and physically preparing them (e.g., shaving treatment areas)
Set up and arrange necessary equipment for procedures, ensuring all tools are operational
Prepare patients for diagnostic imaging studies such as MRI and CT scans by assisting with disrobing and positioning
Prepare patients for interventional procedures such as angiography and biopsies by inserting catheters into blood vessels or body cavities
Perform interventional procedures such as biopsies, stent placements, or angioplasties to treat blockages
Assist physicians during procedures by holding retractors, suctioning blood, applying drapes, and removing specimens
Perform image analysis and communicate findings to physicians
Required Qualifications
Proven experience in a clinical or hospital setting with interventional radiology or diagnostic imaging
Strong understanding of sterile techniques and procedural protocols
Ability to work collaboratively in a high-pressure medical environment
Excellent communication and patient care skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience assisting with anesthesia administration or monitoring
Previous experience in angiography or advanced interventional procedures
Certifications
Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred)
