JOB SUMMARY
Provides direct patient care of a technical and supportive nature under the supervision of a qualified surgeon. Assists with surgical procedures as a first assistant, utilizing specialized knowledge and skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Assists the surgeon in performing surgical procedures.
• Handles tissue, performs hemostasis, and sutures or staples to close cavities.
• Uses instruments, sutures, drains, and supplies appropriately.
• Provides wound care and dressings.
• Assists with post-operative care as directed.
• Maintains a sterile environment and adheres to all surgical safety protocols.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Schedule / Shift
• Days: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
• Certification as a First Assistant is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required.
Experience
• Previous experience as a First Assistant in a surgical setting is required.

Patient Population
• Adult and Geriatric surgical patients.
