JOB SUMMARY
Assists nursing staff and physicians during endoscopic procedures by managing equipment and ensuring efficient workflow. Responsibilities include the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of equipment used in various gastroenterological procedures such as polypectomy, biopsies, screening exams, ERCP, and dilations. The role also involves disinfecting and processing endoscopic equipment, stocking procedure rooms, and providing direct patient assistance as directed by nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities
• Assists nursing staff and physicians during endoscopic procedures.
• Manages and operates equipment related to procedures including polypectomy, biopsies, screening exams, ERCP, and dilations.
• Disinfects and processes endoscopic equipment according to established protocols.
• Troubleshoots equipment issues to ensure operational readiness.
• Sets up procedure rooms with necessary equipment and supplies.
• Transports patients as needed.
• Stocks rooms with appropriate medical supplies and equipment.
• Assists patients with dressing and ambulation under the direction of nursing staff.
• Applies EKG monitors, BP cuffs, and pulse oximetry prior to the start of cases.

Schedule / Shift
• 4 x 10-hour shifts per week.
• Rotating call responsibilities.

Required Qualifications
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Registered with DORA as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) in Colorado.
• Completion of the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) Associates Program and/or Advanced Associates Program.
• Current IAHCSMM Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) Certification.

Experience
• Minimum of 2 years of direct Endoscopy experience required.
• Experience with advanced case Endoscopy is mandatory.

• BLS (American Heart Association)
• DORA CST Registration (Colorado)
• IAHCSMM Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER)
• SGNA Associates Program or Advanced Associates Program

Skills
• Proficiency in the operation and maintenance of endoscopic equipment.
• Knowledge of sterile processing techniques for endoscopic instruments.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment malfunctions.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team interaction.
• Strong organizational and stocking abilities.
