Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry to provide comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring continuous cardiac and physiological monitoring. The RN will assess patient conditions, administer treatments and medications, monitor telemetry data, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with established clinical standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide direct nursing care to telemetry patients in accordance with established care plans and clinical standards.
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and telemetry data, identifying and responding to changes in patient condition.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document clinical findings accurately.
• Administer medications, treatments, and intravenous therapies as prescribed.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR/EHR).
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards.
• Participate in patient handoffs, interdisciplinary rounds, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Operate and troubleshoot telemetry monitoring equipment as needed.
Required Qualifications
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification or ability to obtain within the required timeframe.
• Experience interpreting cardiac rhythms and telemetry monitoring.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience in a telemetry, cardiac step-down, progressive care, or medical-surgical unit.
• Experience using Electronic Medical Record (EMR/EHR) systems.
• National certification in a cardiac or medical-surgical nursing specialty.
• Experience caring for patients with cardiac, respiratory, or complex medical conditions.
Certifications
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Specialty nursing certification (preferred).
