**JOB SUMMARY**
Provides diagnostic medical services utilizing ultrasound equipment for various patient populations.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Performs a variety of ultrasound examinations as ordered by physicians.
- Operates ultrasound equipment to acquire diagnostic quality images.
- Explains procedures to patients and ensures their comfort and safety during examinations.
- Prepares patients for ultrasound procedures, including patient history documentation.
- Maintains accurate and thorough documentation of examinations and findings.
- Follows established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
**Schedule / Shift**
- Typically 8-hour or 12-hour shifts, rotating weekends and holidays as required by facility needs.
**Required Qualifications**
- Graduation from an accredited Ultrasound Technology program.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
**Experience**
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
**Skills**
- Proficiency in operating various ultrasound machines and transducers.
- Ability to perform a range of ultrasound exams including abdominal, pelvic, vascular, and/or OB/GYN.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound physics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
**Certifications**
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
**EMR / Systems**
- Experience with PACS and EMR systems.
**Patient Population**
- Experience with adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients.
