Job Summary
The Certified Epic Analyst is responsible for the support, analysis, design, configuration, implementation, workflow documentation, and ongoing optimization of Epic applications. Working under general direction, this role serves as a key resource for Epic system support and enhancement, ensuring solutions align with organizational goals, operational workflows, and industry best practices.
The analyst will collaborate with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement, diagnose and resolve application issues, and implement effective solutions. This position requires strong knowledge of Epic functionality, healthcare IT systems, and the ability to independently support projects, end-users, and system enhancements while participating in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide primary support for Epic application end-users.
- Analyze, design, build, configure, implement, and maintain assigned Epic applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, system defects, and break/fix incidents.
- Partner with end-users and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for workflow improvements and system optimization.
- Participate in site visits, validation sessions, and cross-functional meetings to gather requirements and provide solutions.
- Document workflows, system configurations, and application changes.
- Coordinate and support project requests, upgrades, and enhancement initiatives.
- Utilize Epic foundation functionality whenever possible to deliver scalable and sustainable solutions.
- Analyze operational data and system performance metrics to drive workflow and process improvements.
- Develop measurements and monitoring tools to evaluate the effectiveness and value of system enhancements.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and transition of monitoring activities to operational teams.
- Coordinate with technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful system implementation and support.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation as required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree required.
- OR
- High School Diploma/GED with four (4) additional years of Epic application support experience in lieu of an Associate's Degree.
- Minimum one (1) year of Epic application support experience.
- Knowledge of Epic applications and healthcare information systems.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to diagnose issues and determine appropriate escalation paths.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience documenting workflows, system configurations, and business processes.
- Strong understanding of healthcare operations and clinical workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Epic build and configuration experience.
- Experience supporting healthcare organizations, hospitals, or clinical environments.
- Experience with workflow analysis and process improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of reporting, analytics, and performance measurement tools.
- Experience participating in system implementations, upgrades, and optimization projects.
Certifications
- Active Epic Certification in the assigned Epic application(s) preferred.
- Epic Proficiency or additional Epic certifications are a plus.
- Relevant healthcare IT certifications are advantageous.
