Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring continuous cardiac and physiological monitoring. This role involves assessing patient conditions, monitoring telemetry data, administering medications and treatments, collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care in accordance with established clinical standards and protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry readings, identifying and responding to changes in patient conditions.
  2. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
  3. Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed by physicians and healthcare providers.
  4. Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings accurately and timely.
  5. Respond promptly to medical emergencies and changes in patient status.
  6. Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
  7. Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary care teams to coordinate patient care.
  8. Maintain accurate and complete patient records in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
  9. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection control procedures.
  10. Participate in shift reports, patient handoffs, and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications
  1. Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
  2. Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  3. Experience in telemetry, cardiac care, medical-surgical, or acute care settings.
  4. Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry monitoring data.
  5. Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  8. Strong patient care, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  9. Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  2. Previous telemetry or cardiac care unit experience.
  3. Experience working in a hospital acute care setting.
  4. Knowledge of advanced cardiac monitoring and patient care technologies.

Certifications
  1. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  2. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  3. National certification in telemetry, cardiac nursing, or a related specialty (preferred).
