We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Medical Laboratory Technician II to perform laboratory testing, specimen analysis, and quality control procedures that support accurate diagnosis and patient care. The ideal candidate will have experience in clinical laboratory operations, strong technical proficiency, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine and complex laboratory testing on blood, urine, body fluids, and other specimens in accordance with established procedures.
Process, prepare, analyze, and verify laboratory specimens for testing.
Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
Review, interpret, and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
Conduct quality control and quality assurance procedures to ensure reliable laboratory results.
Identify and resolve specimen integrity or testing issues according to laboratory policies.
Maintain compliance with laboratory safety, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
Document laboratory activities, test results, maintenance records, and quality control data accurately.
Assist with inventory management, supply monitoring, and reagent preparation.
Collaborate with laboratory staff, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
Participate in laboratory process improvement and continuing education initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
Knowledge of laboratory procedures, specimen handling, quality control practices, and laboratory safety standards.
Ability to operate laboratory analyzers and diagnostic equipment.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a laboratory team.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a hospital, reference laboratory, diagnostic laboratory, or healthcare setting.
Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
Experience in Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunology, or Blood Bank testing.
Bachelor's Degree in a related scientific discipline preferred.
Certifications
Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Certification required or preferred based on facility requirements.
ASCP, AMT, or equivalent laboratory certification preferred.
State Laboratory License required where applicable.
