JOB TITLE: Interventional Radiology Technician

JOB SUMMARY:
Seeking a skilled and experienced Interventional Radiology Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in an interventional radiology setting, assisting physicians with diagnostic and interventional procedures.

Unit / Specialty:
Interventional Radiology (IR)

Schedule / Shift:
Monday - Friday, 07:30 - 16:00

Call:
Call is based on department needs. Currently, call coverage is limited to 08:00 - 17:00 on Saturdays and Sundays every other weekend. No holiday call is anticipated at this time.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist physicians during interventional radiology procedures, ensuring a sterile field and providing necessary instruments and supplies.
• Prepare patients for procedures, including explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring consent is obtained.
• Operate and maintain IR equipment, including imaging systems and monitoring devices.
• Administer contrast media as directed.
• Monitor patient vital signs and condition during procedures, responding to emergencies as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with radiation safety protocols and infection control standards.
• Float onsite within skill set or to sites within 40 miles if needed.

Required Qualifications:
• Wisconsin Radiographer License
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ARRT advanced IR certification
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Interventional Radiology (IR).
• Experience with Siemens suites.
• Prior travel experience is required.

Experience:
• 2 years of IR experience.
• Travel experience.

Skills:
• Proficiency in operating IR equipment.
• Strong understanding of sterile technique and infection control.
• Excellent patient assessment and monitoring skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.

EMR / Systems:
• EPIC

Patient Population:
• Adult patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures.

Education: Certification
