JOB SUMMARY
The Dialysis Technician assists in providing hemodialysis to patients by preparing dialysis machines, cannulating patient access, and initiating/discontinuing treatments.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patient access before cannulation each treatment.
- Set up and tear down dialysis machines in a safe and timely manner.
- Document necessary data for each patient during every treatment.
- Monitor patients closely during treatment for adverse reactions and report to the nurse accordingly.
- Obtain lab specimens as ordered.
- Attend daily huddles and monthly meetings as scheduled.
- Perform other nursing duties as requested.
Schedule / Shift
3-12 hour shifts (3:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- BLS certification required.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
Preferred Qualifications
- CCHT certification preferred or must be obtained within 18 months of hire.
- 6 months of related work experience preferred.
