JOB SUMMARY
Provides direct patient care and assists physicians with procedures in the Interventional Radiology department. Operates imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists physicians and other healthcare professionals during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Operates specialized imaging equipment, such as fluoroscopy units and angiography systems.
- Prepares patients for procedures, including patient screening, explaining procedures, and administering moderate sedation as directed.
- Positions patients and equipment to obtain the required anatomical views.
- Monitors patient vital signs and condition during procedures, responding to emergencies as needed.
- Accurately documents procedures, patient information, and images in the EMR system.
- Maintains sterile fields and adheres to infection control protocols.
- Manages radiation safety for patients and staff.
- Stocks and maintains inventory of supplies in the IR suite.
- Performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting of imaging equipment.

Required Qualifications
- Previous interventional radiology or cath lab experience required.
- Moderate sedation experience required.
Certifications
- BLS Certification
Experience
- Prior experience in an Interventional Radiology or Cath Lab setting.
Skills
- Proficient in operating Interventional Radiology imaging equipment.
- Skilled in patient assessment and crisis management.
- Knowledge of sterile technique and infection control.
- Ability to administer moderate sedation.
