JOB TITLE: Rad Tech Radiation Technician

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures using radiation to aid physicians in the diagnosis of medical problems. Ensures accurate patient positioning, appropriate selection of exposure factors, and adherence to radiation safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities
• Take radiologic films providing quality images to physicians to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems.
• Prepare and position patients for imaging and select exposure factors accurately.
• Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Observe patient during procedure and report abnormal activity.
• Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as warranted.
• Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines to prevent patient exposure to unnecessary radiation.
• Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS, verifying image quality, correct lead markers, and patient data/history.
• Ensure equipment is properly functioning, reporting potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.
• Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.

Schedule / Shift
Monday-Thursday 12:30PM-11:00PM

Required Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Current BLS certification.

Certifications
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography (R) or equivalent.
• State licensure as required.

Experience
• Experience performing diagnostic imaging procedures.

Skills
• Proficient in patient positioning and radiographic technique.
• Knowledge of radiation safety principles and practices.
• Ability to administer contrast media and medications.
• Strong observational skills and ability to report patient status.
• Familiarity with PACS and medical imaging equipment.
