JOB SUMMARY
The Endoscopy Technician provides direct patient care and technical assistance to physicians and nurses during endoscopic procedures. This role ensures the efficient and safe operation of the endoscopy unit, including equipment setup, cleaning, and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and assemble endoscopic equipment and supplies for procedures.
• Assist physicians and nursing staff during diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
• Clean, disinfect, and reprocess endoscopic instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
• Maintain a sterile and organized environment within the endoscopy suite.
• Monitor patients for safety and comfort during and immediately after procedures.
• Document patient care activities and supply usage accurately.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
Schedule / Shift
• Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
• Call coverage required during weekdays from 5:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
• 24-hour call coverage required on weekends.
• Assignment duration: 13 weeks.
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an Endoscopy Technician in a hospital setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Certifications
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
Experience
• 2 years of experience in a hospital setting.
Skills
• Proficiency in the setup, operation, and maintenance of endoscopy equipment.
• Knowledge of sterile processing and infection control principles.
• Ability to assist with various endoscopic procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
