JOB SUMMARY
The CT Scan Tech is responsible for performing diagnostic CT scans and general radiographic procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role involves operating CT scanners, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform routine diagnostic CT scanning procedures for various anatomical regions including head/brain, neck, thorax, spine, abdomen/pelvis, and extremities.
• Assist with biopsy and drainage procedures as needed.
• Operate CT scanners and associated equipment.
• Prepare patients for CT procedures, including explaining the process and ensuring proper positioning.
• Administer contrast media as required and appropriate.
• Perform general radiographic procedures, including fluoroscopy, portable radiography, C-arm procedures, and OR imaging services.
• Demonstrate knowledge of CT system processing, surgical/sterile procedures, and cross-sectional anatomy.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during all procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Adhere to departmental protocols and safety guidelines.

Required Qualifications
• Graduate of an accredited AMA school of Radiologic Technology.
• Possess state licensure as a general radiographer.

Experience
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required.
• Experience as the sole overnight technologist at a FSED location is required.

Certifications
• ARRT (R) - Registered Technologist, Radiography
• ARRT (CT) - Registered Technologist, Computed Tomography

Skills
• Proficiency in performing basic radiographic procedures.
• Proficiency in performing fluoroscopy.
• Proficiency in performing portable radiographic procedures.
• Proficiency in performing C-arm procedures.
• Proficiency in performing OR imaging services.
• Proficiency in routine diagnostic CT Scanning procedures.
• Knowledge of processing CT systems.
• Knowledge of surgical/sterile procedures.
• Ability to administer contrast media.
• Understanding of cross-sectional anatomy.
