Registered Nurse - Critical Care

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse – Critical Care to provide specialized nursing care to critically ill and medically complex patients. The Critical Care RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while monitoring advanced life-support equipment and collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced critical care environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans for critically ill patients.
  • Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, cardiac rhythms, laboratory results, and hemodynamic status.
  • Administer medications, intravenous therapies, blood products, and treatments as prescribed.
  • Operate and monitor advanced critical care equipment, including ventilators, infusion pumps, and cardiac monitoring systems.
  • Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient conditions and emergency situations.
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans, procedures, and recovery expectations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and patient care conferences.
  • Advocate for patients and support a patient-centered approach to care.

Required Qualifications
  • Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage critically ill patients in a high-acuity environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  2. Previous experience in a Critical Care, ICU, CCU, SICU, MICU, CVICU, or Trauma ICU setting.
  3. Experience managing mechanically ventilated patients and advanced hemodynamic monitoring systems.
  4. Knowledge of evidence-based critical care practices and protocols.
  5. Experience with vasoactive drips, CRRT, and advanced cardiac monitoring.
  6. Strong understanding of emergency response and critical care interventions.

Certifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) Certification (preferred).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification (preferred, where applicable).
