JOB TITLE: Ultrasound Tech / Sonographer - Radiology
JOB SUMMARY
Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols. Operates ultrasound equipment to visualize internal body structures for diagnostic purposes.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients of all ages.
- Explains procedures to patients and addresses any concerns.
- Positions patients and equipment to obtain the optimal diagnostic images.
- Operates ultrasound equipment, including transducer manipulation, to acquire anatomical and pathological images.
- Analyzes ultrasound findings and records necessary technical information.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to all safety regulations.
- Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate patient care.
- Documents procedures and patient information accurately in the electronic health record.
Schedule / Shift
- Sunday - Wednesday, 7:00 PM - 5:30 AM
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program.
- Valid professional certification in Ultrasound Technology.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
Skills
- Proficient in performing a wide range of ultrasound procedures.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Excellent patient care and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
EMR / Systems
- Experience with Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
