Job Summary
The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures using radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnosis and treatment. The role involves preparing patients, operating imaging equipment, following safety protocols, and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to support accurate and timely patient care.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Prepare patients for imaging procedures, explain the examination process, and ensure proper positioning.
• Operate and maintain radiographic and related imaging equipment.
• Ensure diagnostic images meet established quality standards and repeat examinations when necessary.
• Apply appropriate radiation safety practices to protect patients, staff, and self from unnecessary exposure.
• Verify patient information, examination orders, and relevant clinical history before procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient and examination records in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
• Follow infection control, patient safety, and departmental procedures.
• Identify and report equipment issues or imaging-related problems to appropriate personnel.
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals as required.
• Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory, safety, and professional standards.
Required Qualifications
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program or equivalent education.
• Appropriate state licensure or certification required to practice as a Radiologic Technologist.
• ARRT certification or eligibility, as applicable.
• Knowledge of radiographic procedures, positioning techniques, radiation safety, and patient care.
• Ability to operate radiographic imaging equipment safely and effectively.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and patient-care skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a clinical and team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience working as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital, imaging center, or clinical environment.
• Experience with digital radiography and electronic medical record or radiology information systems.
• Additional modality certifications or experience, as applicable.
Education: Bachelors Degree
