The Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Telemetry provides comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and medical-surgical interventions. This role involves interpreting telemetry data, administering treatments, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care for patients with complex medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care to patients requiring telemetry monitoring and medical-surgical support.
Monitor and interpret telemetry and vital signs to detect changes in patient condition.
Administer medications and therapies including IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
Maintain accurate EMR documentation ensuring compliance with hospital policies and patient safety standards.
Respond to emergencies and participate in rapid interventions.
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
Current BLS certification.
Current ACLS certification.
Minimum of 1–2 years nursing experience, preferably in telemetry or medical-surgical units.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in telemetry or progressive care units.
Strong background in cardiac and respiratory care.
Certification in NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
Certifications
BLS required.
ACLS required.
NIHSS preferred.
