Description:
We are seeking an Operational Technician for an outpatient setting.
This position involves filling and dispensing prescriptions, functioning similarly to a retail pharmacy but with additional responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Accept written prescriptions or refill requests from patients, evaluating information for completeness and accuracy
- Record medical histories while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Deliver quality customer service, responding to patient inquiries and referring them to the pharmacist for medical information
- Verify the accuracy of patient information
- Count prescription medications, fill prescriptions, and type and attach medication labels
- Perform inventory audits and purchase supplies and medications
- Process patient insurance
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an outpatient pharmacy
- CPHT certification preferred; must be obtained within 6 months of starting the assignment
- Local candidates only
