The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Data Entry/Back Office will be responsible for performing chart extraction and data entry, ensuring accurate entry of medical and surgical patient histories into Penn Medicine's electronic medical record (EMR) system.
This role does not involve patient interaction but requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and familiarity with EMR systems, with preference for candidates experienced with EPIC.
Working within the nursing team area, this position offers a collaborative environment with peers.
Key Responsibilities
Enter patient medical and surgical history accurately into the EMR system.
Extract relevant chart information and update records in compliance with medical standards.
Maintain a strong understanding of medical terminology to ensure accurate data entry.
Work collaboratively within the nursing team area, providing support and ensuring data quality.
Ensure compliance with privacy and confidentiality regulations regarding patient information.
Required Qualifications
Valid LPN license as per state board requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience as an LPN
Familiarity with medical terminology and EMR systems; EPIC experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience with EPIC or similar EMR systems
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
Ability to work independently while maintaining collaboration with team members
Familiarity with Penn Medicine systems or similar healthcare organization
