Sterile Processing Technician

Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and preparation of case carts to support surgical and procedural areas. 
Working Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, the technician ensures all instruments and equipment are sterilized, organized, and available as needed for patient care, following safety and infection control guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment.
  • Prepare and assemble case carts with necessary surgical instruments and supplies.
  • Transport sterilized instruments and supplies to designated areas promptly and safely.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and infection control procedures throughout all sterile processing tasks.
  • Conduct quality checks on instruments and equipment to confirm functionality before sterilization.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe).
  • Knowledge of sterilization techniques, equipment handling, and infection control practices.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a sterile processing or surgical setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with medical equipment and surgical instruments.
