The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and preparation of case carts to support surgical and procedural areas.
Working Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, the technician ensures all instruments and equipment are sterilized, organized, and available as needed for patient care, following safety and infection control guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment.
Prepare and assemble case carts with necessary surgical instruments and supplies.
Transport sterilized instruments and supplies to designated areas promptly and safely.
Ensure compliance with safety and infection control procedures throughout all sterile processing tasks.
Conduct quality checks on instruments and equipment to confirm functionality before sterilization.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe).
Knowledge of sterilization techniques, equipment handling, and infection control practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a sterile processing or surgical setting.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Familiarity with medical equipment and surgical instruments.
