Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and preparation of case carts to support surgical and procedural areas.
Working Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, the technician ensures all instruments and equipment are sterilized, organized, and available as needed for patient care, following safety and infection control guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment.
- Prepare and assemble case carts with necessary surgical instruments and supplies.
- Transport sterilized instruments and supplies to designated areas promptly and safely.
- Ensure compliance with safety and infection control procedures throughout all sterile processing tasks.
- Conduct quality checks on instruments and equipment to confirm functionality before sterilization.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe).
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques, equipment handling, and infection control practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a sterile processing or surgical setting.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with medical equipment and surgical instruments.
