Job Description:
This Rehabilitation Nurse position requires expertise in cardiac rehabilitation, emergency response, and patient care management.
The role involves close monitoring of patient progress, responding to health changes, and ensuring a safe, effective rehabilitation environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Patient Monitoring and Response:
- Recognize and respond promptly to any changes in patient conditions due to their disease or exercise, alerting physicians as necessary.
- Monitor for arrhythmias, respiratory distress, and other acute changes, performing CPR and other emergency protocols as needed.
- Emergency Preparedness and Response:
- Check the crash cart daily to confirm the availability of ACLS drugs and supplies.
- Respond effectively to emergencies, following American Heart Association guidelines for CPR and managing acute situations.
- Care Coordination and Policy Development:
- Assist in creating and updating cardiac rehabilitation policies and procedures to ensure quality and consistency.
- Review patients' medical records, including radiology and lab results, to inform and adjust care plans.
- Equipment and Supply Management:
- Follow protocols for the cleaning and maintenance of rehabilitation equipment.
- Conduct monthly inventories of supplies and equipment, promptly reporting or addressing any deficiencies for safety and compliance.
- Documentation and Administrative Support:
- Maintain organized documentation for cardiac rehab programs, keeping exercise programs and forms readily available.
- Collaborate with supervisors annually to establish and evaluate professional development goals.
Job Requirements:
- License: Active RN license in the State of Florida.
- Certifications: Advanced Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and AIDS education certifications are required.
- Experience: Minimum of two years of nursing experience, with at least one year in cardiac rehabilitation preferred.
- Skills: Excellent emergency response, communication, and patient care coordination skills.
