Position Details

• Unit Name: Level 2B - Special Care Nursery
• Schedule: Nights (7 PM–7 AM), every other weekend (EOW)
• Experience Required:
  • Minimum 2+ years of NICU experience (3+ years preferred).
  • Strong skillset in Special Care Nursery and Newborn Care.
• Certifications: BLS & NRP required.

Unit Overview

• Unit Type: 25-bed unit supporting:
  • Labor & Delivery (L&D)
  • Postpartum (PP)
  • Newborn Nursery (NBN)
  • 2 Operating Rooms (ORs)
  • 2 Antepartum Rooms (ANU)
  • Recovery Room (RR)
• Daily Census: 15-25 mothers, babies, and labor cases.
• Patient Population: Comprehensive maternal and newborn care.

Key Role Details

• Clinician-to-Patient Ratio:
  • L&D: 1:2-3 for evaluations; 1:1 for active labor, magnesium gtt, or epidurals.
  • PP: 1:3-4 postpartum patients.
• Shifts:
  • Night shift: Fixed (7 PM–7 AM).
  • Call requirement: 1 night of call.
  • Rotating shifts for day staff (7 AM–7 PM, 11 AM–11 PM, 7 PM–7 AM).
