Job Responsibilities:

They ensure proper dosage and monitor patients for any adverse reactions.
Wound Care: Stepdown nurses often provide wound care for patients who require dressing changes or wound assessments.
Collaboration: They collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust patient care plans.
Effective communication is crucial to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Patient Education: Stepdown RNs educate patients and their families about the patient's condition, treatment plan, and any necessary self-care measures after discharge.
Technical Skills: They may operate and monitor medical equipment, such as cardiac monitors, ventilators, and infusion pumps.
